The second volume of Soundway’s journey into the underground sounds of 1970s Ghana where highlife, rock, and soul collided and merged with tradition and culture. Much of the material featured had previously never been released outside of Africa thus the album offers a window on a scene previously unknown outside of Ghana. This period is particularly pertinent to Ghana’s history as it heralded the last major wave of music productions before financial crisis and revolution hit Ghana hard in the 1980s reducing the recording industry to a shadow of its former self.
